Performing Couple

A couple that has reached the “performing stage” has learned how to communicate their honest thoughts, feelings, and desires to their Partner in a way that can be heard & validated. Each Partner understands that conflict is just another opportunity to clarify needs & concerns, as well as deepen the level of intimacy and connection in the relationship.
Even though a performing couple tends to have high levels of relationship satisfaction, studies show these couples are still likely to face hardship when it comes to transitions in life cycle. Examples of life cycle transitions include child-birth, death of relatives, co-parenting issues, as well as job disruptions and even trauma. Along with these life experiences commonly comes  changes in one or both Partners’ worldview(s), requiring an adjustment in the relationship dynamics to support the growth of each Partner in the relationship.
