The Adventurous Couple
Partners in an adventurous couple REALLY enjoy the initial excitement (AKA "chemistry") of a relationship, but have trouble coping with tension found in more honest disagreements. Since this initial excitement of a relationship naturally run its course, these couples tend to stay too focused on the “fun adventures” in an attempt to re-create that "chemistry" from the early excitement - rather than "digging deep" into the opportunities for growth right in front of them.
The Adventurous Couple tends to look FUN on their social media feed, but the foundation of vulnerability and conflict resolution to create mutual trust and respect rarely there. These couples need to learn how to advocate for their own wants and needs in the relationship in a way that builds a foundation of trust and respect, rather than focusing on “the next fun adventure” to hold them over. From here, these skill-sets make the relationship part of the adventure.
